Click here if you want to read David Freud's article in the Times online today. It is his recommendations that the Welfare reforms are largely based on.
He mentions the RADAR event in September. I was there for us. I recall all the various contributors and speakers talking about all the barriers there were to the work place. Issues over the DWP having the resource in staff and training to deal with disabled people. I think his comment here relates more to the fact most disabled people felt they should have the right to work. However most face many barriers with some further from the workplace than others. There simply is not the resources available to deliver the support most would need to enter the workplace. Click here for more information.
