I wrote to the new chair, David Borrows MP, some weeks ago when he was elevated to the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on HIV/AIDS.

As well as mentioning "Ageing with HIV" I also wrote about the benefit issues HIV+ people in the UK were facing. I asked him "what did the APPG HIV/AIDS do for HIV+ people in the UK and how was it relevant?".

I met him a few weeks ago at an APPG HIV/AIDS event.

Click here to download his response (pdf) as well as the letter written by the APPG HIV/AIDS to the Rt. Hon. James Purnell Secretary of State for Work & Pensions. Raising our issues in relation to the Employment & Support Allowance.

Thank you to the APPG for its support.

John.

David has raised many valid

David has raised many valid issues and concerns regarding Welfare Reform and how it affects people living with HIV/AIDS but I note that he wrote to James Purnell back in October so when does he hope to receive a response to that letter?

I will follow up on this. John.

I will be interested if they get a direct response where many have not.
