Can anyone help? I have been on high rate disability since 2000 and I was told it was indefinate... I was given a claim form to fill in.. but unfortunately had nobody to give me advise on the best way to fill it in. I got a decision today in the post saying i no longer qualify for any DLA... Not sure really what to do.. I suffer with depression which has been made a lot worse since i recieved the letter back in Nov 2007.. I don't know whether it is worth appealing or not.. I'm just really worried right now as i'm in a load of debt and not sure where to start... Would be grateful if anybody could give me a bit of advice..

cheers Luke

Luke,

Sorry to hear your DLA was stopped. How far in the process did you get i.e. did you fill in a DLA556?

Everyones medical situation is different. It is difficult to know how to advise you without this information.  You can ask for a re-review of your decision or go to appeal (either Oral or written). If there is information not covered by your initial applications you can submit it.

If you have had your award taken away. There is nothing to be lost by appealing. Of course I understand that it very much depends on how you feel.

I am surprised you received no award not even lower rates.

If you need help with a re-review or appeal see the GL24 leaflet in the documents section of the website.  Your local council or primary care trust are likely to fund some HIV service. Worth getting in touch with them and explaining your situation.

In the links section there are some links to organizations that maybe able to help you with your debt problems.

Sorry to be vague but as said without the general background its difficult to be specific.
