£500m consultancy deal with Cipher
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has signed a four year systems and technical consultancy services contract worth £500m. The Cipher Consultancy Services Framework will replace the Cipher deal from 2004-2008. It will focus mainly on consultancy but Capita is expected to manage services for interim personnel. The consulting deal will cover strategic and business change; strategic financial; operational financial; and human resources. Suppliers to the deal will include Atkins, Capgemini, Detica, KPMG, IBM, McKinsey, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Tribal HELM. The services will be available to the DWP and its agencies, along with the MoD, Home Office and the Department for Children, Schools and Families. The agreement is for four years. DWP officials believe that they will now have better access to quality consulting suppliers and that areas such as cost savings, the management of information and performance and delivery standards are expected to improve." | 17
